Meta Quest 2 users now have the ability to multitask in-game, something that was only available for Meta Quest Pro. Users can simply click the Meta Quest button to launch 2D apps from the library such as Instagram or the Meta Quest Browser while they are playing a game.

The company also reduced the time required for self-tracking on the Meta Quest Touch Pro controllers with the v50 update. The controllers will now take less time to detect where a user is when they put on their headset. Users who switch from hand tracking and controllers will see a faster response.

The company also stated that it will launch additional upgrades to Meta Quest Touch Pro in the future.

Meta continues to invest in the metaverse, despite Reality Labs (Meta’s VR/AR division), losing $13.7 million by 2022. Reality Labs has only made $2.16 billion in revenues. The company will launch a consumer-oriented VR headset later in the year.

Meta could soon be competing with Apple, as the tech giant is reportedly launching a VR headset. Bloomberg reported the headset would offer advanced eye-tracking, hand-tracking, and other capabilities.
