Biden criticizes Elon Musk for his plan to eliminate Tesla jobs.

Although Biden’s comment about the moon is the focus of attention right now, the president spoke out earlier to criticize Musk. Biden was asked about Musk’s views on the economy by a reporter. He then shared plans from companies such as Ford and IBM, which are making additional investments in the country.

Musk was the target of Biden’s Ford remarks.

Biden stated that Ford is increasing its investment in new electric vehicles. “6,000 new employees, new union workers I might add, in the Midwest.”

CNBC discovered that Tesla had hired a PR company to monitor its employees on Facebook as part of a push for unionization. Musk has been an opponent of unions for a long time.

Musk’s space transportation company SpaceX does have plans to travel to the moon in the future. It is part of a NASA-funded NASA program that provided SpaceX with $2.9 billion.

“Thanks Mr. President!” replied Musk via Twitter. Also, a link to NASA’s announcement when it selected SpaceX for its next lunar-landing mission was included.

Musk might try to make Biden’s “trip on the moon” comment more favorable, but Musk has no control over Biden’s comments about Ford’s unionized workforce.
