Elon Musk feels ‘super bad’ about the economy and wants to cut down on Tesla jobs

Elon Musk, Tesla CEO, has a “super bad feeling about the Economy” and wants to reduce about 10% of the Electric Carmaker jobs, he stated in an email to executives that was seen by Reuters.

Two days earlier, the world’s wealthiest man had told employees that they could return to work or leave the company.

According to an annual SEC filing, Tesla ( TSLA), there were approximately 100,000 employees in the company and its subsidiaries as of 2021.

The company could not be reached immediately for comment.

Musk’s direct warning about a possible recession and its knock-on effects for automakers is one of the most prominent and well-known forecasts in the industry.

Although there are growing concerns about the possibility of a recession, Tesla cars and other electric cars have been in strong demand. Many of the indicators that a downturn is possible — such as increasing dealer inventories in the United States – have not materialized.
