Trump Jr. also sent Meadows a message indicating that Congress could intervene on Jan 6 to overturn the will vote of voters if they were unable, for whatever reason, to secure enough electoral votes in Trump’s favor through the state-based strategy.

According to Trump Jr.’s text, this option involves a scenario in which neither Trump nor Biden have enough electoral votes for the winner status. The House of Representatives will vote by state party delegation with each state receiving one vote.

“Republicans control 28 states Democrats 22 states,” Trump Jr. texts. Trump Jr. wins again

He texts Meadows, “We either have a voter WE control and we win OR it gets kicked into Congress 6 January 2021.”

John Eastman, a conservative lawyer, suggested a variant of this idea in a series of memos he sent to his clients in January.

Eastman’s memo outlined a six-step plan to Vice President Mike Pence in order to reverse the election for Trump. It included the throwing out of the results from seven states that were allegedly having competing electors. No state had ever submitted an alternative slate of electors. It was only Trump allies who claimed to have the authority to elect them.

Carter has subpoenaed Eastman to the House select committee. He is trying to keep some records secret from investigators. Carter also accused Eastman of conspiring with Trump to overturn his election.

Charles Burnham, his attorney, stated that Dr. Eastman had an impeccable record as an attorney. He respectfully disagreed with the judge’s findings.

Trump Jr. presses Meadows to fire Wray and place loyalists at FBI

Trump Jr. ended his November 5 text by calling for litany personnel moves in order to consolidate his father’s power over the government. He placed loyalists in key positions and initiated investigations into the Biden clan.

He texts “Fire Wray; Fire Fauci” to refer to FBI Director Christopher Wray, and White House coronavirus advisor Anthony Fauci. Trump Jr. proposes that Ric Grenell, former acting Director of National Intelligence, be made interim head of the FBI. He also suggests that Bill Barr, then-AttorneyGeneral, be “selected Special prosecutor for HardDrivefromHell Biden crime families.”

Trump refused to concede during the weeks and days following the 2020 election. Rumors circulated that Wray was still in consideration of firing him, as well as several other high-ranking officials with which he had become frustrated.

Trump and his associates criticized Wray’s inability to produce information they claimed would be detrimental to the President’s political enemies including Biden. CNN reported previously that Wray was in danger of being fired by Trump for several weeks before Election Day.

Wray is still in his position, while Barr resigned in December 2020 without naming any special prosecutor to investigate Bidens. Trump Jr.’s text highlights how fragile the DOJ situation was immediately after the election.

Trump Jr. recommended that Meadows replace Wray with Grenell. Grenell was not only lacking the necessary qualifications to lead FBI but had also proven his ability to do the bidding of the former President.

After a three-month stint as Trump’s acting intel chief for a scandalous period, Grenell returned to the campaign trail in late 2020 to promote Trump’s unfounded claims about widespread voter fraud and support him in his legal challenges in Nevada, a key swing state.

Although Biden had a narrow lead in Nevada over Trump on November 5, Biden appeared to be poised the win six of the state’s six electoral ballots. Grenell and Trump campaign officials also announced that they would file a new lawsuit to “stop illegal votes being counted” but did not provide any evidence to back their claims of rampant fraud.
