Taiwan export ban prohibits Russia or Belarus from buying chips with frequencies lower than 25 MHz

Although Taiwan allows Russia and Belarus to buy CPUs from East Asian countries, there are two big caveats. Their clock frequencies can’t exceed 25 MHz and their performance is limited to less than 5 GFLOPS.

DigiTimes reports Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs published this week a list of strategic high-tech commodities that are not allowed to be exported to Russia or Belarus. MOEA considers that Russia could import these goods from the latter country.
