YouTube Deletes Jan. 6 Committee Post for Spreading Election Disinformation

YouTube removed a video uploaded on Jan. 6 to the platform. It contained a clip of Donald Trump lying about the 2020 elections and spreading misinformation without proper context.

This video was one of many uploaded by the House Committee, which is investigating Jan. 6th’s attack on the Capitol, by a pro Trump mob. It is being shared online to make a record of its investigation and share it with a wider audience.

The video included William P. Barr, former attorney general, and a clip from a TV interview where Trump claimed that some of his votes were given to Joe Biden. The video was brief and did not include Barr or any other person specifically calling out Trump’s lie.
