The Highest Gas Prices In US History, Breaking Record From 2008

Gas stations reported prices that were $2 higher than the state average. Los Angeles and San Francisco stations sell regular gasoline at more than $6 per gallon. Some even reach $7. KSBW reported that a station in Gorda, located 140 miles south from San Francisco, charged $7.59.

On Tuesday morning, prices in 28 states were above $4. Only five states, namely South Dakota, Kansas Missouri, Oklahoma, Oklahoma, and Arkansas, have an average price of less than $3.80. Oklahoma is the cheapest state for gas at $3.71
