Google Employees Are Unhappy About Their Pay, Promotions, Survey Results

As Google prepares for most employees to return to the office, the company faces a workforce that is increasingly unhappy with key issues like compensation and the ability to achieve career goals.

Google’s annual employee survey, internally known as “Googlegeist”, shows that more staffers aren’t comparing their pay packages to what they would make in a comparable role elsewhere. They also question the ability of their employer to execute.

Surveys were completed in January and sent to employees last week. CNBC reviewed both the overall results of the company and individual groups, such as search, cloud, ads, and search. Compensation and execution were the lowest scoring areas across all categories. Google’s mission, values and vision received the highest scores.

In a short email, CEO Sundar Pichichi informed employees that the survey was “one of the most important” ways the company measures employee satisfaction with the company.
