Biden’s new military package announced recently includes advanced weapons for the Ukraine army. So, there are Howitzer artillery, armored personnel carriers, Mi-17 helicopters, and a dozen advanced radar systems. There’s more to the package as it’s decided after assessing the situation and the need. 

Both the countries had extensive talks and customized the inventory of military supplies accordingly. Also, the aid has multiple tank-killing systems, including 500 Javelin missiles, 300 Switchblade drones, and thousands of other anti-armor weapons. There’s more to it as the U.S. will provide 18 155mm Howitzer cannons and 40,000 rounds for the first time. 

Not only this, the American army will give demo and training to use these advanced weapons to the Ukraine army. These advanced weapons are AN/TPQ-36 counter-artillery radars and AN/MPQ-64 Sentinel air surveillance radars. Also, there are switchable drones, body armors, and war helmets. 

The Proceedings of Military Package to Ukraine

The military package is sent to Ukraine under a special “Presidential Drawdown Authority,” known as PDA. This authority allows Biden to immediately send the aid to Ukraine without the opinion of any opposition party. This is an emergency protocol, and hence no one can stop it. A total of more than $2 billion in U.S. military aid has been given to Ukraine during Biden’s term as a President. 

What Views Does President Biden Have?

President Biden gave a bold speech and elaborated on the military support. The weapons provided by the U.S. are proving helpful and will push the Russians back. Here are some quoted lines of the president on the scenario:

“The Ukrainian military has used the weapons we are providing to devastating effect. As Russia prepares to intensify its attack in the Donbas region, the United States will continue to provide Ukraine with the capabilities to defend itself,” a call to Zelensky followed this statement.

“This new package of assistance will contain many of the highly effective weapons systems we have already provided and new capabilities tailored to the wider assault we expect Russia to launch in eastern Ukraine.”

“The steady supply of weapons the United States and its Allies and partners have provided to Ukraine has been critical in sustaining its fight against the Russian invasion. It has helped ensure that Putin failed in his initial war aims to conquer and control Ukraine. We cannot rest now.”
