According to the Russian representative, the vote to suspend Russia from the Human Rights Council was “an attempt by the United States maintain its dominant position” and to exert total control over international relations in order to perpetuate its human rights colonialism.

Louis Charbonneau (UN director at Human Rights Watch) stated in a statement, that Russia’s suspension sends a “clear message” that they have no business on the council.

Charbonneau stated that “The General Assembly sent a clear message to Russia’s leadership stating that a government whose military is regularly committing horrendous rights violations has no place on the UN Human Rights Council.” The Bucha grissom images have shocked the world. Victims and their loved ones deserve to be held accountable. The UN and International Criminal Court investigators should quickly gather evidence of war crimes and preserve it.
