Ukraine Airbnbs Get Bookings To Raise Money For Their Residents

Another user on Twitter said that they had booked a week’s stay and encouraged others to do the same. Another user called Airbnb for a reduction in fees. These fees typically range between 3% and 15%. This ensures that the Ukrainian hosts get all proceeds.

A spokesperson for Airbnb stated that it would waive fees in the country. She said, “We are grateful for the generosity of our community in this time of crisis.” “Airbnb will waive all host and guest fees for all bookings in Ukraine during this crisis.”

Airbnb took last year bookings for 300m nights from 4 million hosts worldwide, for a total $46.8bn (£35bn). It lists over 300 properties available for rent in Ukraine.

Brian Chesky, the chief executive officer and co-founder of the company, stated that it would examine whether it should continue operations in Russia following Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.
