Destanni Henderson, South Carolina’s guard, led the charge with 26 points.

Aliyah Boston was named national player of the year and contributed 11 points and 16 rebounds. Paige Bueckers from UConn gave everything, but her 14 points were not enough.

The Gamecocks were too physical and large in the end. The Huskies were defeated on the boards by the Gamecocks, who won the rebound battle 49 to 24. This was the perfect way to end a nearly perfect season for No. Dawn Staley, 1 South Carolina’s national coach of the Year, who adds another national title to her trophy case as a coach.
