Peskov claimed that defaults would be artificial because the company has the money to pay them — but it can’t access them.

Additionally, the Biden administration announced new sanctions against Russian financial institutions as well as individuals. This includes the two daughters of Russian President Vladimir Putin and the wife/daughter of Russian Putin’s Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov.
