Report: Apple’s VR/AR Operating System has a New Name

Apple’s mixed reality headset for Apple is still scheduled to be unveiled sometime next year. According to, a report published on Thursday.

Bloomberg claims that the operating system’s name has been changed from “realityOS”, previously leaked, to “xrOS”. The extended reality, also known as mixed reality, is a catchall term that covers both virtual realities (VR), and augmented reality. It can also be used to describe experiences that combine elements of both.
