Netflix Will Require Subscribers To Pay For Users Outside Their Household
According to Chengyi Long (director of product innovation at Netflix), Netflix will allow members to share their accounts with others in three countries, Chile, Costa Rica, and Peru. This is in a new test that will launch in these three countries. These new options will be available in the coming weeks in the three countries. They may also expand to other markets.
Long stated that “We have always made it easy for people living together to share their Netflix accounts, with features such as separate profiles and multiple streaming in our Premium and Standard plans.” He also wrote about the test. These have been very popular but there has been some confusion over when and how Netflix can share them. Accounts are now being shared among households, which can impact our ability to invest and buy great TV and movies for our members.
