Biden Calls Putin “A War Criminal”, And Pledges New Military Aid For Ukraine

The president did not announce the actions requested by Volodymyr Zilenskyy in his virtual address to Congress.

WASHINGTON — Wednesday’s announcement by President Joe Biden included $800 million more in military support for Ukraine. The decision was made after Ukraine’s president asked Congress to do more to aid the country from Russia.

Biden stated at the White House that the new aid package will dramatically increase the amount of military assistance going to Ukraine. The package includes 800 anti-aircraft and 9,000 anti-armor systems, 7,000 small arms, such as shotguns or grenade-launchers, as well drones, and other military equipment.

“This could prove to be a difficult, long-lasting battle. Biden stated that Americans will continue to support the Ukrainian people despite Putin’s unethical and immoral attacks on civilian populations. “We stand united against Putin’s cruel and vile onslaught. We’ll continue to stand by them as they fight for their freedom and democracy.
