Meghan Markle Did NOT Copy Princess Diana’s look at Queen’s Funeral

Brooke Newman, a Virginia Commonwealth University historian and historian of early modern Britain, agreed.

She said that both women wore a black belted overcoat with one red poppy and tried to shift the focus away from them.

Similar looks have been worn by other royal women on Remembrance Days.

Storoschuk stated that the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II took place on September 19. The royal family wore “what was to be expected” for the occasion. A black dress or long coat, with black tights and a black hat, was worn by the women.

Markle wore black to several public ceremonies in order to say goodbye to the queen.

William and Harry, the sons of King Charles III, made a public appearance on September 10th. They were accompanied by their wives to salute the people gathered at Windsor Castle.

Since early 2020, Harry and his wife have been the subject of intense media scrutiny. They left their royal duties to move to Los Angeles and Harry was forced to resign. Oprah Winfrey’s March 2021 interview with Harry and his wife, along with their lucrative deals with streaming services like Spotify and AppleTV only increased the media attention.

Newman stated that Markle’s fashion choices are under constant scrutiny online because of the numerous posts.

She stated that members of the royal family, especially women, are subject to intense media scrutiny. Therefore, they take extra care in choosing their jewelry and clothing. “Meghan, the only person of African descent to marry into a royal family, has been subject to a lot of criticism for her fashion choices .”… AFP
