Rep. Gwen Moore (D-Wis.) said that someone told her a former employer she was an embarrassment because of how her hair looked.

Some of her fellow Republicans, including Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), she accused of trying to avoid a discussion about discrimination thatdisproportionately affects Black people. Jordan stated Friday that he wants to concentrate on inflation, gas prices and other issues important “to the American people”, and accused Democrats for distracting from these issues.

Rep. Al Green (D-Texas) responded to Jordan’s comments by saying: “Black people also are American people. Even if you claim that the American people don’t want it you can’t exclude Black people. This would be a floor issue for Black people. This is a Black household issue at the kitchen table.
