Horridus Is One Of The Most Complete Triceratops Fossils On Earth

Late-afternoon sunlight shone on Montana’s sandstone ridge, lighting up a large sinkhole that had been soaked by rain showers earlier in the day. Craig Pfister, a commercial paleontologist, said that he saw parts of a pelvis bone and femur bones while meandering along with private land.

Pfister didn’t know that he was looking for one of the most complete Triceratops skeletons.

He said, “At the time, I believed or hoped that it was something special, but I had to wait another month for excavation before I realized the extent and quality” of the specimen.
