First day at The New School for George, Charlotte, and Louis, Royal Children

On Thursday, the Cambridge children began school.

On Wednesday, Prince William and Catherine walked into the school with their children, before Jonathan Perry, the headmaster of the school, greeted them.

Perry told the children “Welcome, Lambrook”, according to the PA Media news agency. It’s wonderful to have you here. We are very excited about the year ahead.

He raised his hands to shake their hands, and then asked them: “Are they excited?”

They replied “Yes,” PA reports.

William stated, “We look forward to it,” and added that the children have “lots of questions.”

George and Charlotte attended Thomas’s Battersea in south London, a school that charged a fee.

Kensington Palace announced in August that the decision was made to relocate the school for children.

CNN was informed by a royal source that the Cambridges had moved out of London during school terms to provide their children with normal family life.

They live in Adelaide Cottage, a 4-bedroom house on the grounds of Windsor Castle in Berkshire, approximately 25 miles from London.

CNN was told by a royal source that William and Catherine will be able to move because they are “active parents in busy schools.”

The source said that they want to have a normal family.
