Kay, Kay’s mother-in-law, moved in recently during the coronavirus pandemic.

Alves McConaughey laughed and said, “We joke about it all the time.” “Before she lived with us, she had an entirely different perspective about what type of advice she would give. She has a totally different perspective now that she is living with us. She’s softer.”

Alves McConaughey, a 90-year-old grandmother, said that she thinks being a grandparent makes you more open to different situations. Sometimes I will have to discipline the children or have a more stern conversation. I can see that she is not happy about this. She’ll ask, “Do you really need to do this?” But she has been a tremendous influence on our children’s lives and our own. She brings joy to our family.”
