Apple Maintains Prices on New I-Phones Despite Inflation

All iPhone 14 models will come with a motion sensor capable of automatically connecting to emergency services and detecting serious car accidents.

Consumers have cut back on spending, with inflation hovering at its highest point in 40 years. This is likely to have contributed to the recent drop in smartphone sales. However, the iPhone has performed far better than other Android devices.

International Data Corp. predicted a 6.5% drop in smartphone shipments worldwide for 2022, nearly double the 3.5% decline it estimated just a few months back. IDC estimates that the average smartphone price will finish this year at 6% above last year, despite the anticipated decline in sales.

Apple could risk losing its profits by keeping iPhone prices constant if inflation increases its costs. This is a risk that Apple could afford given its $44 billion profits in the first half.

Apple could also see a rise in its profits if consumers upgrade to Pro Max and Pro Max models of mobile phones. These models generate higher profit margins than lower-end models. It appears that Apple anticipates that a growing number of consumers will be willing to pay $200-300 more for the deluxe iPhone 14 models, according to Daniel Ives, an analyst at Wedbush Securities.

Apple stock closed Wednesday at $155.96 after closing up 1%

Despite the fact that Apple’s prices are among the highest in the industry, consumers have been buying iPhones already this year. According to Canalys, another research company, Apple sold 106 million iPhones in the first half of the year. This is an 8-fold increase over last year.

Thomas Husson, a Forrester analyst, praised the new lineup’s faster chips and improved design. He also noted that it had “some incrementally innovative features.”

Apple Watch Series 8 will feature a temperature sensor that allows women to track their cycles retrospectively. It also includes crash detection, which is also available on the iPhone 14. The new Apple Watch Series 8 will be available in stores on September 16th at $399. It is the same price as last year.

Apple has launched the Watch Ultra model to increase its appeal to wearable technology. It is more durable and offers a range of features that are tailored to outdoor enthusiasts like hikers and scuba divers. The Watch Ultra will be available in stores on September 23 at a premium $799 price.

Leo Gebbie, a CCI Insight analyst, predicted that Ultra will compete against existing sports watch brands such as Garmin and luxury Swiss watchmakers who market their products around extreme sports.

Apple also revealed the next generation of wireless headphones, the AirPods Pro 2. This new model will maintain its $249 starting price.
