Instagram’s Founders Have A New App

Four years after Instagram’s founders quit the company they are back with a brand new app.

Mike Krieger and Kevin Systrom announced Tuesday the launch of Artifact. The app promises “a personalized newsfeed” powered by artificial Intelligence.

Krieger stated that he and Systrom had been “working with a talented group” for over a year to launch the service in an Instagram posting. Krieger stated that he and Systrom “have been working with a talented team” for more than a year to launch the service. A wait list was opened to the public Tuesday.

The app, unlike Instagram, is focused more on articles than photos. According to Platformer who was the first to report the launch, Artifact will suggest content based on your interests and allow you to have a conversation with your friends. A main feed will show popular articles from big media outlets, as well as smaller bloggers. Users’ feeds will become more personalized depending on what they click.

CNN reached out to Artifact for more information but they did not respond.
