Snapchat Will Place Ads in Stories and Share the Earnings with Creators

Snapchat has a new way to make money as a creator. Snapchat is currently testing mid-roll ads in Stories, which are displayed in the Stories of a select group of US creators. A wider rollout will take place in the next months.

Snapchat will share any revenue generated by an ad placed in a Snap Star’s Story. According to Snapchat, the revenue share is calculated using metrics such as engagement and posting frequency. Snap Stars are creators and public figures who have large followings. They can access the feature by clicking a gold star.
