Walmart will offer $95K to $110K per year to new truck drivers to help combat the shortage
Walmart announced Thursday that it will increase the annual salary of truck drivers to $110,000 in response to a national shortage.
Walmart released an infographic with the announcement that stated “The average long-haul driver’s salary is $56,491 per year.” Walmart’s starting salary can almost double.

In October , the American Trucking Associations stated that there was a shortage in drivers in the U.S. This led to calls for higher wages from carriers. Some trucking companies responded by offering sign on bonuses.

Walmart’s raise places it on par with Sysco, another giant in supply chain, who now advertises that its drivers can earn up to $110,000 per year.
