Testing Increases, Monkeypox Cases in The USA.

The number of reported orthopoxvirus and monkeypox cases in the United States has risen once more.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there are 1,814 confirmed cases in the country. Case counts have increased in areas where monkeypox testing was performed.

New York has 489 cases, while California has 266.

Other states had previously been below triple digits. However, Florida, Illinois, and the District of Columbia have all reached triple digits.

In a recent interview with ABC News Dr. Antony Fauci, White House Chief Medical Advisor admitted that cases were likely to be an “undercount”.

He said, “It is actually spreading at a pace that we feel we need to address with testing, and with vaccines.”
