Soon, Australian Pension And Carer Payment Recipients Will Get $20 More For Their Fortnightly Payments

As the federal government increases the welfare payment, pensioners will receive a $20 per week increase to their payments starting Sunday.

Australia’s elderly and disability support retirement pensions will increase starting March 20 to meet rising inflation.

This boost amounts to a $20.10 per week increase in individuals to $987.60, and a $30.20 increase in couples to $1488.80.

The asset test limits will be increased to allow more people access to a part-pension. Single homeowners will see the cap increase from $6750 to $599,000.

Couples with homeowners will experience a $10,000 increase in the asset limit to $901,000.

Nearly five million Australians have access to the three rising payments. However, Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese has called the rise a spin.
