Silicon Valley CEOs Confirm They Aren’t Interested in The Current Metaverse Scenario

Recent events have given more attention to the metaverse. Due to the increasing number of space fans, several projects have emerged.

Some CEOs of tech companies are less enthusiastic about the metaverse, however. Snap CEO Evan Spiegel and Phil Spencer, Microsoft’s gaming chief, both said they were not big fans of the metaverse. They displayed their nonchalant attitude during a Wall Street Journal event.

Spencer’s description states that the metaverse is currently a collection of poorly-built video games. This can be seen in the ecosystem’s poor graphics and low-quality interface.

Spencer emphasized the advantages of the gaming universe over the metaverse. This includes the ability to create multiple virtual worlds. He also compared the majority of metaverse projects with virtual room meetings.

The Microsoft gaming chief explained further that most game developers have a unique skill. He also noted that the projects they create offer more appealing worlds for relaxation and entertainment. He stated that he wouldn’t be part of any metaverse projects that look like a meeting room.

Spiegel, for his part, compared the experience to living in a computer. Spiegel noted that all iterations of his metaverse concept are at the primary level. He said that he won’t find any excitement spending his time on such projects after a stressful day at work.
