Russia Responds To Western Sanctions By Imposing Export Bans

Russia has reacted to western sanctions regarding Ukraine’s invasion by imposing export bans for a number of products up until 2022.

Export bans telecoms, medical, vehicle and agricultural equipment as well as certain forestry products like timber.

According to the economy ministry, further measures could include preventing foreign ships from Russian ports.

It stated that these measures were a logical reaction to the sanctions imposed upon Russia.

The ministry stated that bans on “unfriendly actions” from countries were intended to ensure the continued functioning of key economic sectors.

More than 200 products are included in the export ban. These measures will be in effect until the end of this year.
