Rihanna at The Super Bowl Halftime Show: It’s Going To Be A Celebration of My Catalog

Rihanna stated that it was difficult to squeeze her many global hits into a brief time frame

This was the most difficult and hardest part. It involved deciding how to make 13 minutes count, but also celebrating. This is what the show will be. It will be a celebration and tribute to my catalog, in the best possible way. It’s hard to squeeze 17 years’ worth of work into just 13 minutes. We had to lose some songs because of that. But, I think we did a good job of narrowing it down.

She continued, “There are probably around 39 versions of this setlist right now.” Every little thing counts, no matter if I want to cut out a guitar, add something, or mut it, [to] insert a whole new song or remove a song. Each time I make a change to something, it has to be updated and that’s my new version.

Rihanna, a Barbados-born artist, said that the performance will not be in keeping with her cultural roots. Representation for immigrants. Reprezenting for all black women. This is key to allowing people to see the potential. It is a long journey from home. It’s an amazing journey. It’s amazing that I made it to this point. Barbados will be on the Super Bowl stage, which is something I am really happy about.”

Alexis asked Rihanna gently where she was at the moment in terms of new music. This is in light of the fact that her last album, Anti, was in 2016. She said, “Musically, it’s all good.” “I feel open to discovering new things and I’m willing to explore them.” Things that are unique. Things that are out of the ordinary. Weird. My fans might not understand. I want to have fun. I just want to have some fun. I want to have fun listening to music.”

Apple Music is sponsoring the Super Bowl Halftime Show for the first time. Rihanna will also be following in the footsteps of last year’s event, which won three Creative Arts Emmys due to performances of Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg.

Rihanna just released a brand new Super Bowl “Game Day” line, which includes 17 pieces that range from jerseys to hats and hoodies to boxers. The words “Rihanna concert interrupted by a football match, strange but whatever” are printed on one t-shirt.

Two new songs were also added to the film Black Panther. “Lift Me Up” was nominated Academy Award for the best original track.
