SpaceX Fires Super Heavy Booster in Texas as The Next Step Towards Mars

SpaceX made the first static-fire attempt with its Booster 7 loaded with 33 Raptor engines. It roared to live for almost ten seconds in Boca Chica Texas, Texas on Thursday.

Elon Musk the CEO of SpaceX and stated in a tweet that one engine had been turned off by the team right before ignition. The other engine was stopped by itself.

“…so 31 engines fired in total,” Musk stated. Musk stated, “But still enough engines for orbit!”

The Super Heavy booster is only one part of SpaceX’s Starship rocket systems that the company intends to use to reach Mars.

Thursday’s launch brings the vehicle one step closer to its first orbital flight within the next few months.
