Rihanna Will Host the 2023 Super Bowl Halftime Program: ‘It’s on’
Rihanna better gets to “Work” because she has a Super Bowl halftime show to headline. The pop star, Lady Gaga, posted a picture of a football to Instagram Sunday as an indication of her Super Bowl LVII performance.
Official Twitter accounts for Apple Music and the NFL then confirmed Rihanna’s performance Sunday. Apple Music tweeted “It’s on” Jay-Z released a statement Sunday describing Rihanna as “a generational talent, an ordinary woman who has exceeded all expectations.”
The rapper said that he was a Barbados native who has become one of the most famous artists of all time. A self-made entrepreneur in entertainment and business.
Seth Dudowsky (NFL Head of Music) stated in a statement that he was “thrilled” to welcome Rihanna on the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show stage.
“Rihanna has been a cultural and iconic artist throughout her career. Dudowsky said that she is looking forward to collaborating with Rihanna, Roc Nation, and Apple Music to bring the Halftime Show to another historic performance.”
USA TODAY reached out to Rihanna’s representatives in order for them to comment.
The Super Bowl’s upcoming halftime show will be sponsored by Apple Music for the first time. Previous shows sponsored by Apple Music since 2013 were sponsored primarily by Pepsi, which also sponsored the 2007 show.
