The Service of Thanksgiving marks the 70th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign in Britain. It is just one of many events that will take place throughout the week. It follows the Silver, Gold, and Diamond Jubilee celebrations of 2012, 2002, and 2012 which celebrated 25, 50, and 60 years respectively on the throne. Jubilees usually include a mixture of ceremonial military displays and a church service, as well as street parties.
