Netflix Will Start Charging Extra User Fees for Netflix Early Next Year

This news comes as Netflix tries to grow and settle investors.

It confirmed that it had lost subscribers earlier in the year. The company was able to add more than 2.5 million subscribers to its third quarter thanks to Monster: Season Four of Stranger Things and Monster.

Netflix has yet to announce pricing for punitive charges. However, if they follow the pilot program’s “one-quarter of the basic rate”, it should come out to about US$3-4. Netflix unveiled an account migration tool Monday that will allow users to transfer their subaccount data (viewing histories, recommendations, and the like) to their new independent subscription.

The company also announced a new, cheaper, ad-supported Tier that will start on November 3rd at $7 per month. This new tier will be made available in 12 countries, including Canada, the UK and Mexico, starting November 10th.
