Netflix Will Start Charging Extra User Fees for Netflix Early Next Year

It was obvious that it was coming. We all knew it was coming. Netflix’s next phase in its months-long crackdown against password sharing — which follows the company’s first quarterly subscriber losses in a decade — will soon be upon us. During its quarterly earnings call, said that customers will be charged an additional monthly fee if they share login credentials starting in 2023.

This is an expansion of the pilot program that’s currently in Latin America. It charges extra fees for “extra user” subaccounts. These are users who are not part of your immediate family and use your login to access this service. Each listing on the “Who’s Watching?” page is charged at the same price. If they do not live with you, each listing on the “Who’s Watching?” screen will cost you more.
