NASA ensures 5k Exoplanets Beyond Our Solar System: Each a “New World”

Alexander Wolszczan (lead author of the breakthrough research on the first exoplanets confirmed from three decades ago) said, “To my thinking, it is inevitable that there’ll be some kind of life somewhere – most likely some primitive kind.”

Although we haven’t yet found an Earth-clone, the exoplanets that have been spotted so far include rocky worlds such as ours and jumbo gas giants larger than Jupiter. Although 5,000 is a remarkable number, it is only a small fraction of the potential world. NASA stated, “We know this: Our galaxy probably holds hundreds of billions such planets.”
