Moderna Says Covid Vaccine For Young Kids Raises Powerful Immune Response

The effectiveness of the coronavirus omicron variant was not very high. Children aged 6 months to 2 year old had efficacy of 43.7 percent and children 2-6 years old only 37.5 percent. Moderna stated that the majority of infections were mild. Moderna said there were no cases of death, hospitalization, or severe illness.

These findings could be a welcome surprise to some parents. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that the hospitalization rate for children and infants up to the age of 4 during the spike in the omicron variant occurred about five times as often during the peak of last summer and autumn.
