Moderna Says Covid Vaccine For Young Kids Raises Powerful Immune Response

Moderna announced Wednesday that its Covid-19 vaccine generated an immune response in children from 6 months to 6 years old.

Two 25-microgram doses, one quarter of which was given to adults aged 18 or older, resulted in an antibody response that was similar to what was observed in clinical trials of adults.

The majority of side effects reported by the company for the 6,900 children who participated in the trial were mild or moderate. No cases of a rare condition known as myocarditis had been reported.
