Elon Musk claims he will reverse Trump’s “permanent” Twitter ban

Elon Musk revealed that he would reverse Twitter the permanent ban on Donald Trump, after completing his $44 million acquisition of the social media platform.

Musk spoke virtually on Tuesday at a London conference and said that Twitter’s decision to ban the former president of the United States was a morally bad decision’ and ‘foolish in the extreme’.

Musk said, “I do believe it was not right to ban Donald Trump,” specifically addressing Trump’s removal from Twitter since his takeover.

In January 2021, Trump was banned from Twitter due to his supporters storming US Capitol and trying to stop the certification of Joe Biden election victory.

Trump recently launched Truth Social, a competing service. He previously stated that he wouldn’t return to Twitter, even if invited back.

Musk spoke virtually at the FT Future of the Car conference and called Trump’s ban on Twitter a ‘mistake’.
