Chinese-Canadian Pop Singer Kris Wu Sentenced for Rape in China

After finding Kris Wu guilty of several sexual offenses including rape and being a Chinese pop star, a Beijing court sentenced him to 13 years imprisonment. Wu gained fame as a member of the Korean-Chinese Pop group EXO and then as a solo artist after he quit the group in 2014.

According to the Beijing Chaoyang District People’s Court, the singer raped three women at their residence between November 2020-December 2020. The women could not or didn’t know how to resist because of alcohol intoxication. In July 2018, he organized two women to engage in “promiscuous actions” while intoxicated at the residence.
