After Winning Amber Heard Defamation Case trial Johnny Depp Breaks Silence where she wins Countersuit
Depp’s legal team left the courthouse to thunderous applause – even though the client was not there. It’s easy to see the loyalty of the crowd.
Johnny Depp’s lawsuit was unanimously approved by the jury. Amber Heard’s accusation of him as a sexual abuser, which was defamation, was also dismissed. Further, the jury found that Heard’s claims in The Washington Post were false. Depp was awarded $10 million in compensatory damages, and $5 million for punitive damages.
Here’s the deal: Amber won her defamation lawsuit and was awarded $2,000,000 Johnny’s lawyer accused Amber and her friends, along with her lawyer and publicist, of fabricating a story to benefit the cops.
Johnny’s $5 million punitive damages award was reduced by the judge, due to Virginia law which caps punitive damages at $350,000
Net result — Amber owes Johnny $8.350,000.
The jury appears to have ruled in Amber’s favor, Johnny’s favor or both for their defamation claims. However, the judge has just ordered the jury back to determine damages. We are still waiting for the verdict and will keep the stream going.
