SpaceX President says she doesn’t believe the allegations of sexual harassment against Elon Musk

After an allegation that the CEO was guilty of sexual misconduct, SpaceX‘s COO has defended Elon Musk via email to all employees.

Gwynne Shotwell was the top female executive at the rocket firm. She told employees in an internal message that she believed the claims against Musk were false according to reports from CNBC, and the New York Times. Shotwell’s email was sent after Insider published a report about the allegation. After a woman claimed that Musk had propositioned her to have sex on board a private aircraft, offered to purchase her a horse and exposed his penis to her. SpaceX paid $250,000 to the attendant. Musk denied that any sexual misconduct occurred and called it “Elongate”.

Shotwell did not comment on the allegations but she did make comments about Musk’s character and said that he would never do something like that. She didn’t deny that there was a settlement with the flight attendant.

According to a copy her email, Shotwell stated that “Personally, the allegations are false”. “Anyone who knows Elon as well as I do knows that he would never condone or conduct this type of inappropriate behavior.”

Gwynne Shotwell didn’t deny that the rocket firm had reached an agreement with the woman who made it.

Shotwell stressed that SpaceX has “zero tolerance for harassment” and that any accusation of it is taken seriously, “regardless who the accuser is.”
