William Hurt, Oscar Award-Winning Actor Dies at 71

William Hurt was a leading man of the 1980s. He won an Oscar for 1985’s Kiss of the Spider Woman and starred in “The Big Chill” as well as “Body Heat”. He died Sunday of natural causes. He was 71 years old. Gerry Byrne, Hurt’s friend, confirmed Hurt’s passing to Variety.

Will Hurt’s son released the following statement: “It is with great sorrow that the Hurt family mourns William Hurt’s passing, beloved father, Oscar winning actor on March 13, 2022, one day before his 72nd Birthday.” He passed away peacefully in the company of his family from natural causes.
