Chris Rock received an apology from Will Smith Monday regarding hitting him at Sunday’s Academy Awards. He stated that he was “out-of-line” and “embarrassed.”

Smith posted a message Monday night on Instagram, stating that violence in all its forms is destructive and poisonous. “My behavior at last night’s Academy Awards was unacceptable.

Smith said, “Laughs at my expense are part of the job. But a joke about Jada’s medical condition was too much to bear and I reacted emotionally.”
