Vernon Winfrey (Oprah’s father, And Ex-Councilman), Has Passed Away

Vernon Winfrey was Oprah Winfrey’s father. He died Friday night after fighting cancer. Oprah released a statement. He was 89.

“Yesterday, with his family around his bedside, I had the sacred honour of witnessing him take his last breath,” Oprah shared in a tribute to her father on Instagram. “We could sense Peace enter the room at his death.”
