Tim Sale, Legendary Comic Artist, Has Passed Away

At 66, the seminal DC artist, who was beloved for his work with Batman, has died.

Tim Sale is the artist who made modern superheroes possible. His moody and enthusiastic work on characters like Batman or Spider-Man helped to define modern myths as well as understandings of the character. According to DC executive , Sale was admitted to hospital with “severe medical issues”. Jim Lee, a fellow legend, also confirmed that Sale had been admitted. On Thursday, Sale’s death was announced.

“It’s with deep sadness that I have to announce that Tim Sale has died today,” stated a message from Sale on Twitter. This post by DC Comics, and tribute, confirms his passing.
