Irving has been playing in 18 road games since then. He averages 25.9 points per game and 5.4 assists per match as the Nets try to build chemistry.

The NBA and most of society supported New York City’s mandate that Irving be vaccinated to play in Brooklyn’s home games. This mandate was in place for the majority of the season. The NBA commissioner Adam Silver called Irving to be vaccinated on the opening night of the 2021-2022 seasons, imploring Irving for the sake of his family and himself.

Then, four months later, Silver did a complete 180 and called out the hypocrisy of New York City’s vaccine mandate that prohibits Irving’s participation in Brooklyn’s home games at Barclays Center but allows visiting unvaccinated players to compete.
