Paul Haggis, a Filmmaker, Is Ordered to Pay $7.5 Million after Being Found Guilty of Sexual Assault in Which He Was Involved with a Former Publicist

Priya Chaudhry, Haggis’s attorney, stated that she was “disappointed and shocked” by the verdict.

“It was impossible to Mr. Haggis to get a fair trial after the judge allowed the statements by 4 other women, who never went to the police, never took any action against him and 3 of them never even entered the courtroom.” The attorney said. They used this strategy to deceive the truth, portray Mr. Haggis as a monster and use a where there’s smoke there’s fire strategy. Under these circumstances, no one could have had an impartial trial in that courtroom. This is a shameful abuse of #MeToo, where political sentiments overrule facts.
