Oprah Winfrey’s $100 Gift suggestion was split by TikTok viewers when a fan asked Her which gift she would recommend for moms.
After Oprah suggested an item out of their budget, a TikTok was created by a person who asked Oprah Winfrey to recommend a gift for their mom.
A video of a TikTok user going by @10gsocial was posted on December 18, 2013. An unidentified individual can be seen approaching Winfrey, saying, “A favorite present for my mother, she’s struggling.”
Winfrey paused for a while and recommended “a beautiful red jewel box.” Then, the person interrupted her to tell her, “that’s too costly for me.” Winfrey replied, “No, it’s not. It is really not. It’s about one hundred and a dollars.”
The 38-second video received more than 800,000 views and the person stated that they were searching for something “a little less in my budget”. Winfrey responded, appearing surprised, “Lower Than $100?”
Winfrey suggested that the person write a list of their top 10 reasons for love and make a beautiful card.
Over 350 comments were left on the video, including mixed reactions to Winfrey’s original gift suggestion and Winfrey’s reaction.
“She was shocked that $100 was so expensive. “Do they make anything that costs less than $100?” One comment received more than 1,800 likes. “The judgment when the judge said $100 was too costly,” a comment that received over 640 likes.
