This year, the festival does not require proof of vaccination.

The festival is September 30-October 16, at Lincoln Center, and other venues in the five boroughs. However, masks will be required.

In the coming weeks, we will announce lineups for the Currents and Revivals, Spotlight, Talks and Talks sections, and other fest features.

According to reports, Noah Baumbach’s White Noise and Elegance Bratton’s narrative debut The Inspection will open the festival. The Centerpiece film is Laura Poitras’ documentary All the Beauty and the Bloodshed. The NYFF 60th Anniversary Screening Event will feature James Gray’s Armageddon Time, which celebrates the New York Film Festival’s enduring spirit.

Dennis Lim, the fest’s artistic director, stated that “If there’s one thing we can learn from this year’s Main Slate it’s cinema’s unlimited capacity for renewal.” The program’s films show that renewal can take many forms. There are stunning debuts, veteran filmmakers pulling off new tricks and filmmakers from all walks of the film industry looking for new forms of representation and expression. We are thrilled to share the diversity and eclecticism of these films with our audiences.
